Cameroon midfielder reveals desire to remain in England

West Ham United midfielder Alex Song has revealed his desire to remain in England once his loan spell from FC Barcelona expires.

The Cameroon international has enjoyed a fine season-long loan at Upton Park from the Nou Camp throughout this campaign and he has now revealed that he wants to stay in the Premier League is possible.

The former-Arsenal man left The Gunners in order to join Barca, but he struggled to cement a first-team spot and was then hauled out the club by new boss Luis Enrique.

Premier League Stay

Now after having a season back in the Premier League, Song has revealed his desire to stay for the foreseeable future, but doubts it will be with West Ham, alerting both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers have both been linked with signing the 27-year-old, and his recent comments will certainly alert them ahead of the Summer transfer window.

When asked about his future and whether he wants to stay in England, Song replied: “Yeah, I definitely want to stay here.

“I don’t know (if I can sign a permanent deal at West Ham). I can’t say anything now because I want to focus on the rest of the season and then we will see.”

Arsenal Fall-out

Song left the Premier League after falling out with Arsenal assistant manager Steve Bould, but since his return, he has been impressive for Sam Allardyce‘s men and has been  a crucial part in their midfield.
