Alexis Sanchez, the Arsenal forward, has been given an injury boost prior to the Christmas schedule of matches in the Premier League, after scans on his hamstring suggest no lasting damage.

The Chile international limped off the field during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road – with first impressions that the player could be out for around six weeks.

However, scans performed by the medical team at the Emirates Stadium revealed that Sanchez is only to likely to miss a small amount of the festive period.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, will be hoping Sanchez’s recovery can be that of a swift one – with the Gunners’ keen to have him back for the visit of Manchester City, on Monday 21st December.

Sanchez has been in fine form for Arsenal this season, though there is even better news, regarding Theo Walcott.

Walcott had been out since late October, having picked up an injury in the League Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

He is back training with the first team squad, and could make his return to the fold in Saturday’s match at home to Sunderland.
