Chelsea manager Antonio Conte admits it didn’t look like a good idea to change his formation against Roma in last night’s Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Conte started off the game with a different line up, with David Luiz pushed from defence into midfield, while he switched from his usual 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 with Eden Hazard partnering Alvaro Morata up front.

After the match it was clear the Italian had made a tactical mistake.

When asked about the move after the game, Conte admits he wasn’t to pleased with his team’s performance in that new set-up.

When asked if he was happy with the outcome he replied:

‘Maybe not. Because I think we suffered for a lot of the game.

‘Only when we changed it and played with our system did we play the football that I like to see.’

Chelsea were forced to fight back to earn a point from an eventful Champions League Group C game against Roma.
