Italian wants former-Chelsea star back at club

Antonio Conte will try to lure Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea should he get the managers job.

The Italian is heavily expected to take over at Stamford Bridge following the European Championships on a three-year deal, and although it’s yet to be announced, he’s already planning for next season with the Premier League outfit.

Conte released a statement earlier this month admitting he misses club football and will step down as Italy‘s head-coach after the Euros in France.

Chelsea are expected to announce the Italian sooner rather than later, but according to reports, he’s already working on transfer targets for his next club.

One target in mind has a history with Chelsea as it’s Everton‘s striker, Lukaku.

Conte Wants Lukaku Back

Conte is desperate to lure the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge and it’s a deal that Roman Abramovich would back financially as he’s a huge fan of the Toffees striker.

Abramovich didn’t want to sell the powerhouse front-man in the first place, but he was overruled by Jose Mourinho, who sold him for ÂŁ28million back in 2014.

Lukaku’s improvement has continued and he’s developed into one of the Premier League’s elite strikers, and Conte is keen to see him back at Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has admitted that for now he’s happy at Everton, but he would like a move to a bigger club in order to play Champions League football in the future.
