Chelsea are once again linked to Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata, with the striker currently on fine form.

Alvaro Morata took his tally to eight goals in his last 10 games for Real Madrid after netting in their clash at Sporting Gijon.

The 24-year-old is reportedly frustrated at his bit-part role at the Bernabeu with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema all ahead of him in Zinadine Zidane’s pecking order.

The potential of more regular first team football may be enough to turn Moratas’ head toward Stamford Bridge, but with Diego Costa still at the club, he may wait to see how the summer transfer window plays out for Chelsea.

The Spaniard has attracted interest from clubs all over Europe, but Chelsea have been linked with the Madrid star on numerous occasions over the last few seasons – and seemed to be very close to signing him from Juventus before his old club Real Madrid swooped in and snapped up his signature.

Antonio Conte does currently also have Michy Batshuayi on the books, but seems to have little faith in the striker, rarely using him as an option, despite Chelsea buying him for 31 million.

Diego Costa has also had his future at the club thrown into uncertainty this season, having been linked with moves away to both China, and old club Atletico Madrid.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea do bring Morata in, and what effect that may have on the future of both Costa and Batshuayi.
