Antonio Conte reveals whether or not Ngolo Kante will return against Roma
Antonio Conte has given an update regarding the fitness of Ngolo Kante ahead of Chelsea’s crucial Champions League clash against Roma on Tuesday night.
The Blues boss has been without his his star midfielder for almost a month now, and has seen his team struggle in his absence. They have dropped to nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League.
Luckily from their perspective, Kante is back in full training and has travelled to Italy for tomorrow’s match. However, Conte would not confirm whether or not he will play against Roma.
“I know very well the importance of this player, but I want to be sure he is ready.” said the former Juventus and Italy manager.
“I hope to have him in this game, but I prefer to not take this type of risk. If he is ready, he plays.”
Kante was named PFA Player of the Year last season as Chelsea won the league title and is arguably the most important player in their current side. He also won it with Leicester City the previous year.
This is his debut Champions League campaign, and the Blues will count on him if they are to make progress in the competition that they famously won back in 2012.
