Antonio Conte says his decision to start Cesc Fabregas against Swansea was because he felt it was best for the team.
It was Fabregas’ 300th Premier League appearance of his career.
The 29-year-old was in the starting XI alongside N’Golo Kante with Conte dropping Nemanja Matic to the bench.
The Chelsea boss insisted that Fabregas had earned his place after a week of training.
He told Sky Sports: “After one week of work, I try every game to take the best decision for the team and the opponent that we face.
“I know I can count on these players.
“And for me, every game I have to take the best decision.”
