Italian wants striker at Chelsea

Antonio Conte has urged Chelsea not to sell star-striker Diego Costa this summer, according to reports.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a return to Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, or with a possible move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

However, it’s reported that Conte wants to keep the controversial striker at Chelsea and is urging the club not to part ways with him before he arrives.

Conte is expected to be announced as the new Blues manager sooner rather than later, and he will take over officially at Stamford Bridge following the European Championships this summer.

Conte Wants Costa At Chelsea

The Italian has already urged club officials not to sell Eden Hazard, and he’s now reportedly told them to keep hold of Costa as well.

Although he’s currently enjoying a good run of form, Costa hasn’t been himself this season and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Premier League outfit.

He struggled to impress whilst Jose Mourinho was at the helm, but once Guus Hiddink took over, he re-found his scoring form.

Since then, he’s been linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid and also a move to PSG, but if Conte has his way, he will be staying put at Chelsea.
