Arsenal end Lacazette pursuit

Arsenal will not pursue their interest in striker Alexandre Lacazette, as Lyon have bumped up his price-tag to £60million.

The 25-year-old was the subject of a failed bid from the Gunners earlier this summer, and has recently been offered a new and more lucrative contract by the French giants.

Arsene Wenger’s hopes of signing the France international are now very slim, who will cost a staggering £60m, which would beat their current transfer record by a long way.

The Gunners are still keen on Lacazette but are insisting that they will not continue their chase for the highly rated forward if Lyon are sticking to their £60m asking price, according to the Daily Telegraph.

This will not please Arsenal fans in the slightest, as they have been demanding a couple of big money signings at the Emirates in this summer transfer window.

Oliver Giroud’s place in their starting XI should be safe if Arsenal are don’t buy Lacazette, with not many other top quality forwards still being available for purchase this close to the new season starting.
