The Gunners were looking to sign the player in the summer but PSG wants to sell him as soon as possible. With the FFP pressure, the Ligue 1 champions are looking to balance their books after spending lavishly on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
Portuguese midfielder, Goncalo Guede is one such player PSG are looking to sell.
Goncalo Guedes joined the French giants from Benfica last January for around £26m but has failed to make an impact on the team. He made 13 appearances for the club before being sent on loan to Valencia.
The 21-year-old was also linked with a move to Manchester United before ending up at the Parc des Princes. With Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal still undecided, Wenger needs to have a backup option in case the duo decide to leave the Emirates.
According to reports, Arsenal are clear favourites to sign the 21-year old. Wenger would have to cough up about £31m to sign the midfielder. The young winger could be a good replacement and can fill the void that would be left by the end of the season.
Guedes has been a key player for Valencia this season. The winger has made 13 league appearances and scored 3 goals in the process. He has been instrumental in Valencia’s La Liga campaign as the club are 3rd on the table, behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Valencia are also aware of the fact that PSG want to sell the player and the Spanish club would want to sign him up before other clubs come calling.
