Midfielder identified as potential Santi Cazorla replacement

Arsenal are looking into re-signing Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, but could wait until the summer to go ahead with the deal.

The 23-year-old came up through the Arsenal youth ranks, where he stayed for four years before moving to Super Lig outfit Besiktas, and after thriving back in his homeland, officials at the Emirates Stadium want to see him back at the club.

Ozyakup left North London in 2012 after failing to break into the first-team and he has since developed into a solid centre-midfielder, and according to reports in Turkey, Arsenal are keen on re-signing him as a potential replacement for Santi Cazorla.

Cazorla Replacement

The Spaniard is currently sidelined until March/April time, but due to his age, it’s considered he doesn’t have long left in the first-team, and Arsene Wenger believes his former-player could be an ideal replacement.

The reports claims the deal won’t happen in the January window, but it could happen in the summer with the player keen on a return to England and the Premier League.
