Arsenal have joined the race for Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who is attracting interest from the Premier League’s elite.

The frontman is already being chased by Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. He has also rejected a new deal with the Bundesliga club.

Wenger even sent a club official to monitor the Germany international during their Europa League tie against Napoli.

The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the finest talents in Germany. He has banged in 15 goals in 24 starts across all competitions this season, including three strikes in four Champions League starts.

He has already been capped 10 times for Germany, scoring seven goals for Die Mannschaft.

As well as facing competition from their domestic rivals, though, the Gunners will have to pip Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to his signature
