Arsenal look at possible replacements for Arsene Wenger

Arsenal fear Arsene Wenger could quit at the end of the season with sources close to the Gunners boss insisting his signing of a new contract is far from certain.

The Gunners are desperate for the 64-year-old to stay in charge even if the club fail to break a nine-year silverware drought by landing the FA Cup.

Arsenal’ directors have witnessed the chaos caused by Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, and will not sack Wenger under any circumstances.

But they are making contingency plans in case Wenger does end his 18-year reign – with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone a serious contender along with Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp and Roberto Martinez of Everton.

The uncertainty is not believed to have anything to do with Wenger’s personal terms or the length of his deal.

Neither, Nor is the Frenchman considering moving to another club, even though an exit from the Emirates would make him a leading candidate for Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain, should either of those European giants change manager this summer.
