Arsene Wenger has made these deals his priority

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to tie up the contracts of both Theo Walcott and Petr Cech in the coming days.

Walcott‘s current deal has one remaining year at the Emirates Stadium, but according to reports he is close to committing his long-term future to the North London club.

Despite these rumours, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keeping tabs on the England international just in case a new deal cannot be agreed between Walcott and the club.

London switch for goalkeeper

The Express also claim that the Gunners will complete the signing of Petr Cech from London rivals Chelsea, for a fee in the region of £11 million.

Cech has admitted he won’t be deciding on his future until after his international duties with Czech Republic, who have Euro 2016 qualifiers to compete in.

However, it looks likely that the 33-year old shot-stopper will make the switch from West to North London, as first team football will be guaranteed due to the unconvincing performances from Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina last season.

The goalkeeper wants a London stay because he doesn’t want to uproot his settled family, as well as this his Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he will allow Cech to talk to whichever team he desires to sort his own future out.
