Wenger reveals plans for life after football

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has more in common with Manchester United that he would want to keep quiet.

The Frenchman’s side was held to a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier today and could follow in the footsteps of former Red Devils gaffer, Sir Alex Ferguson, and former United and France star, Eric Cantona.

Wenger may not be ready for retiring just yet, but when he does, he will put straight back out to grass…

The 65-year-old says that like those TV adverts that Cantona stars in, he wants to make a new name for himself – as a farmer.

However, Wenger claims he wants to be more like Sir Alex and his horses.

Potential Retirement Plans

Wenger said: “I am a farmer. I love horses as well, but I don’t go to the races.

“Sir Alex is lucky because he is interested in horses as well. When he gets up in the morning, he can go to see horses practise or training and that is great.” he added.

That is for the future. Wenger wants to bolster his squad to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Plans for Next Season

Wenger said: “I think progress is being made. We have that feeling in the squad.”

The veteran manager admitted that he wants to add world stars to his squad in the summer, but it has to be the right star unless he won’t do it.

He said: “It looks good strengthening here and there, but sometimes the cohesion is important as well.

“And bringing in a number of new players doesn’t always work.

“To play together for a long time is very important as well.” Wenger continued.
