Arsene Wenger is hoping to beat the Red Devils to the signing of Real Madrid outcast

Arsenal are ready to make a loan move in January for Real Madrid’s Isco, who has fell down the pecking order since Zinedine Zidane’s arrival at the beginning of the year.

The Gunners are hoping to acquire the Spain international by luring him to the Emirates with the offer of Champions League football, before signing him on a ÂŁ17 million permanent deal in the summer.

Manchester United also want the 24-year-old and are willing to meet Los Blancos’ ÂŁ25 million asking price, but there is currently no guarantee that they will qualify for the Champions League next campaign.

Isco is looking to secure regular first-team football, with the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric Zidane’s favoured midfield options.

Arsenal would welcome the Spaniard’s arrival as it would bolster their Premier League title bid, although they are currently nine points shy of league leaders Chelsea – prior to their game against Manchester City on Sunday.

James Rodriguez is another Real star who is struggling find his place in midfield at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Chelsea understood to be ready to spend £75 million to take him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

However, that won’t stop Mourinho and Wenger battling for the other Real’s midfield outcast, with the Portuguese looking to bolster his options in the centre of the park and is seen as the long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney.

Isco’s contract expires in 2018, but their current transfer ban may mean they will do everything within their power to keep him at the club.
