The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old as they hunt for a replacement for Olivier Giroud, who is out until the new year with a broken leg.

Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked with the player this summer.

However, Arsenal appear to have leapt to the front of the queue, with boss Arsene Wenger thought to be keen on drafting in more attacking options following Giroud’s injury blow.

And they have now been handed a huge boost with the revelation that ÂŁ16m-rated Cerci wants to quit the Italian side this summer.

“Cerci’s sale is still possible and he has asked to leave,” Torino president Urbano Cairo told

“There are still four days left in the transfer market, so we’ll see what happens. Of course my desire is to keep hold of him, but we’ll see if we can find a solution that suits everyone.

“I’ve given him my word that we’ll sell him if an adequate offer arrives.

“With Milan it’s all over. Arsenal? There are several options.”
