Arsenal have stepped up to sign Juventus Striker Alvaro Morata, by potentially doubling his wage demand.

The 24-year-old is currently on the books of Serie A side Juventus, but former club Real Madrid are apparently said to be keen on resigning the striker.

Morata has a release clause of just ÂŁ23.3million in his current contract and Real Madrid are reportedly hoping to secure a return for the striker, but are looking to immediately sell him on for a profit.

This turn of events has seen big European clubs, such as Arsenal and PSG very keen on landing the player before they are beaten to it, as Real Madrid will be asking more money for the player and Morata will expect higher wages.

Reports are claiming that a deal for the Spaniard to return to the Santiago Bernabeu is close, with Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez set to hold talks with Real president Florentino Perez next week.

And Spanish media outlet AS claim – providing Morata moves to Real – that PSG have informed the striker they will be willing to double his current wage.

The report adds Arsenal have also told Morata’s representatives they are willing to match PSG’s offer to try and lure him to the Emirates.

Arsenal have been searching relentlessly for a star striker who will finally provide regular goals in the league, and hence they will look to secure the signature of Alvaro Morata in the near future

Elsewhere, Antonio Conte is said to be interested in re-signing Romelu Lukaku back from Everton for a large fee.
