Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has confirmed that talks with Villarreal are going well regarding a potential deal for defender, Gabriel Paulista.
Reports emerged yesterday that the two clubs were discussing a potential deal and when asked, Wenger admitted that talks were ongoing and they were going well.
The 24-year-old has been a big part of Villarreal’s success this season and Wenger has stated that if they feel the price is right, they will go ahead with the deal.
‘Talks are progressing well. Can we find an agreement? There’s a chance. 50-50. We are ready to pay the price if we think it’s right.’
The Frenchman was then quizzed about whether Paulista would be their last signing this month, and in a classic Wenger fashion, he responded with; ‘Not necessarily.’
