Chelsea boss labeled Wenger as a ‘king’ who can’t be punished

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refused to respond to Jose Mourinho’s comments about him being a king and untouchable.

The Chelsea manager was commenting after Wenger escaped punishment from the FA for the comments he made about Mike Dean‘s performance during the Chelsea/Arsenal game last weekend.

The Gunners lost 2-0 to Mourinho‘s men and Wenger was less than impressed with Dean‘s performance after he sent off Gabriel Paulista and failed to dismiss Diego Costa.

Mourinho Attacks Wenger

“The one who can speak about the referees before the game, after the game, can push people in the technical area, can moan, can cry in the morning, in the afternoon, and nothing happens,” Mourinho said on Friday.

“He cannot achieve [success] and keep his job, still be the king. I say just one.”

Wenger Refuses to React

When Wenger was quoted what Mourinho said, he refused to rise to the bait and defended his job.

“No, I feel I have just done my job with the team and for our fans. That’s what you want,” he said.

“Honestly I’m not too much concerned about the other results.

“Thirty years in football now, and I know that what is important is to play football well.”
