The Arsenal boss has claimed he will not let the forward join another Premier League team – and believes the Chile international will pen new deal

Arsene Wenger has claimed he will not let Alexis Sanchez make the move to another Premier League club.

The forward has been linked with a move to several of Arsenal’s league rivals after a tremendous season for the Chile international, in which he has bagged 24 goals in all competitions for the club.

He has impressed with his attacking play and flair and it has put clubs like Man City on high alert as to whether he will be available to sign in the summer. City aren’t the only interested party either, with several clubs from across Europe (such as PSG) also registering interest in him.

Speculation over the player’s future has only increased due to his reluctance to sign a new deal with the Gunners. His current contract is set to expire in just a year’s time and it means that he would be available for nothing if he doesn’t pen a new deal.

No new deal yet

Despite the club putting new contracts on the table for Sanchez, the player himself has been unwilling to put pen-to-paper just yet.

Wenger though is unwilling to let him join a Premier League rival and even believes that, despite how long the talks have dragged out for, the player will pen a new deal soon.

If Arsene Wenger is true to his word, then it means the likes of Man City and Man United will have no hope of signing him at the end of the current campaign.

It’s a blow for these English sides, who had all been hoping to potentially tempt the player away from the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
