La Liga giants to use Jackson Martinez money to bring back striker
Atletico Madrid are ready to launch a formal bid for Chelsea striker Diego Costa, according to reports in Spain.
The La Liga giants have just sold Jackson Martinez to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande for £32million and they are ready to reinvest that money solely on re-signing Costa from Chelsea.
Martinez was only at Atletico for a few months, after making his mega-money move from FC Porto, but after netting just three goals in Spain, his time has already come to an end.
With Atletico now keen on signing a striker, it’s reported that they will offer the whole ÂŁ32m to Chelsea for Costa, which is how much they sold him for back in 2014.
Atletico Want Reunion
According to the reports, the chief of Atletico is dreaming of bringing Costa back to the club, similar to like they did with Filipe Luis, who struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge during his one season there.
Costa has re-found form in recent weeks and with a new manager coming in over the summer, it’s not sure where his future lies, but he has hinted before that he’d be open to a return to Diego Simeone‘s side.
