City boss Pep Guardiola’s relationship with star striker Sergio Aguero has deteriorated during the early weeks of the season

Manchester City are ready to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £58 million valuation of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a bid to replace him with star striker Sergio Aguero.

The Argentina striker’s relationship with City boss Pep Guardiola is understood to have broken down, while the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has told the player he can decide his own future at the Etihad.

Aguero was left out of Guardiola’s Champions League team that faced Barcelona in the Camp Nou, and it’s understood that Aubameyang is set to become the man to replace the 28-year-old.

The Gabon international has already admitted that his father, who acts as his agent, had held talks with City during the summer. But the Premier League club are set to return with a new offer, in which they’ll meet both Dortmund and the player’s demands.

Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are both understood to be interested in taking Aguero from the Etihad, while Real Madrid’s transfer ban will deny Los Blancos from signing the Argentine, with the Spanish giants keen on his services.

And talks between City and Aubameyang have already begun, for a second time, in recents weeks, meaning Aguero’s is nearing the Etihad exit.

Guardiola has made no secret of his desire to sign Aubameyang, who is the current Bundesliga Player of the Year and one of the hottest striker’s in Europe.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also understood to be interested in the Borussia Dortmund striker.
