Barcelona’s board are in negotiations with Arsenal over a £35million offer for right-back Hector Bellerin in the summer transfer window.
The Spain international has played 87 games for the Gunners since joining as a 16-year-old from Barcelona’s famous academy but the defender is heavily speculated to re-sign for the Spanish giants.
Bellerin is already being regarded as a future captain at the Emirates Stadium by fans and pundits alike, but Gunners gaffer Arsene Wenger expects to receive offers from Barca in the summer.
The two clubs have already met over a possible move for Bellerin in the off-season and negotiations are well underway, according to news outlet Sport.
However, the 21-year-old only signed a contract extension at Arsenal in November which will see him remain a Gunner until 2022.
“I just signed my deal with the club so I’m really, really happy.” Bellerin said when he penned his new deal.
“As you know, I’ve been here for a long time and I feel like this is my home so this was the right thing to do.
“I’m really happy to be a Gunner for a few more years.”
