Barca enter battle for Monaco star
Barcelona have joined Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign £26m-rated Monaco star Thomas Lemar.
Lemar has been performing fantastically this season for Monaco and has been linked with a move to the Premier League big boys.
However, French media L’Equipe has claimed that the Spanish champions are ready to swoop in and take the player from under the English sides’ noses.
Barca were interested in his highly-sought after team-mate Kylian Mbappe, Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, but see Lemar as a cheaper alternative should none of those potential deals come off.
Liverpool see Lemar as a potential replacement for Coutinho should Barca manage to tempt him away from Anfield.
Lemar has enjoyed a sensational season with Monaco this term, scoring 11 goals across all competitions.
He also made his international debut for France against Ivory Coast in November last year.
