Barcelona lead the race for Valencia ace

As Manchester United have pulled out, Barcelona looks promising

The Portuguese attacker has had numerous big name interest.

According to reports, Chelsea had a bid of ÂŁ32 million rejected from Los Che, whilst Mourinho’s new side have shown keen interest, but have made no solid offer, leaving Barcelona in a one horse race.

However, Spanish newspaper, ‘Sport’, have reported that Barcelona are now leading the race for his signature.  Apparently, Valencia have already admitted defeat, accepting the fact that their playmaker will be making movements to another club. The La-Liga powerhouses are supposedly wanting to put this signing to bed, adding another talent into their already ridiculous squad.
Whilst putting in good performances throughout the last season, with 5 goals and 5 assists, his key part in Portugal’s advance to the Euro 2016 semi final would of definitely sparked interest.

However, Valencia are making it hard for the Catalonian club as they have whacked a ÂŁ65 million price tag on Gomes. Anything less than their asking price will result in Gomes staying where he is. On the other hand, reports suggest that Valencia are willing to negotiate a cash-plus players swap deal. Barca duo Christian Tello and Alen Halliovic have been rumoured to be the possible candidates for the swap deal.

Alternate interest?

It has been rumoured that the current Italian champions, Juventus, were keen to sign the talented player. However, as they have already made the signing of Miralem Pjanic, it seems very unlikely that the Old Lady will splash more cash on a very similar sort of playmaker.

Chelsea have already had one offer rejected, but there is a possibility that they may make an improved offer in the coming days. However, it seems unlikely that Manchester United will make any offer after their ÂŁ26 million deal for Mkhitaryan.
