The Catalan giants are set to offer their Brazilian star a new deal to fight off interest from Manchester United
Barcelona are set to give Neymar a new deal which will see the Brazilian earn half a million a week at the Nou Camp.
This seems to be an emphatic statement from last season’s treble winners that Neymar is staying in Spain and will not be joining Manchester United anytime in the future.
The 23-year-old was one Barcelona’s standout performers last campaign and was subject to a move to Old Trafford last summer.
Doubled wages
It was also reported from his own father that Neymar actually spoke to Manchester United about a potential move but Barca quickly rejected the approach.
Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu has said: “This is the season we will sort out a new deal with Neymar.
“We will try not to talk about the negotiations and to work discreetly until we can announce it.”
Should the Samba star sign this staggering contract, he will become the third-highest paid player in the game behind teammate Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
