The German midfielder is suffering from a knee injury
Louis van Gaal has confirmed in this morning’s press conference that Bastian Schweinsteiger will play no further part in Manchester United’s campaign.
The 2014 World Cup winner damaged his knee ligaments when representing Germany on international duty last month and hasn’t featured for United since.
The 31-year old joined the Red Devils from Bayern Munich back in the summer, but his first season at Old Trafford has been hampered by injuries.
The latest setback for Schweinsteiger could seriously hinder his chances of making Germany’s Euro 2016 squad.
