Super Lig side want to sign Arsenal goalkeeper

Besiktas has confirmed their interest in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.

The Turkish outfit have been strongly linked with signing a new goalkeeper in recent months, with Manchester United‘s Victor Valdes close to securing a transfer over the summer.

However, that proposed deal collapsed and now the Super Lig side are interested in signing Arsenal back-up ‘keeper Opsina.

The Colombian has been a cup goalkeeper so far for Arsene Wenger‘s side, including a couple of games in the Champions League, up until he was dropped after a shocking performance against Olympiakos.

The 27-year-old is not happy playing second-fiddle to Petr Cech, and he could be set for a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the New Year.

Confirmed Interest

Speaking about their reported interest in Ospina, Besiktas‘ vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi said: “We are interested in Ospina.

“Him and goalkeepers of his calibre, but just because we want him does not mean he will come.

“We have to agree with his club and take his contract into consideration.”
