Chelsea now face strong competition from German giants Borussia Dortmund for Genk winger Leon Bailey.
The highly rated Jamaican has been connected to Chelsea, and although no formal agreement exists. It is understood The Blues have an informal option to sign Bailey once he qualifies for an EU passport.
However, his current form with Genk has now peaked interest from Dortmund.
Dortmund scouts watched Bailey in action against KV Oostende. The midfielder, 18, is currently tied to Genk until 2018.
Chelsea transfers adviser Piet de Visser on Bailey: “I essentially know him through my colleagues, I’ve only seen him on tape. But he’s a top talent. His technique is excellent and he’s so fast. I’m curious to see how he’ll perform. He now has to show what he’s really worth. In each case, he has everything to succeed.”
