Chelsea have sacked manager after poor start

Chelsea Football Club have sacked Jose Mourinho.

The Blues are sitting 16th in the Premier League table following nine losses already this season and are just one point above the relegation zone.

Roman Abramovich was reportedly ready to give the manager until the Sunderland game, but it’s now been revealed that the club have parted ways with Mourinho for the second time.

Mourinho leaves the club after guiding them to the Premier League trophy just a few months ago.

Immediately following the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, there were reports suggesting that emergency meetings were called by Abramovich.

However, those reports were dismissed the following day, only to be replaced with suggestions that Mourinho’s job had been discussed at board level.

The club have yet to release a formal statement, but it has been confirmed that the Portuguese is no longer manager at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho has enjoyed stints with FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid in his managerial career and he’s expected to return to management as soon as possible, with a couple of clubs already eyeing him up, including Paris Saint-Germain.
