City launch second bid for Liverpool winger

Manchester City have launched a fresh bid for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, according to Sky Sports News.

The Citizens recently had a £25million bid rejected, with £5m of add-ons, but this time they have offered £35m up front, with a further £5m worth of add-ons.

Formal Offers

City were turned away with their initial offer, and it’s likely they’ll be turned away with this offer as it’s still £10m short of Liverpool‘s valuation of the winger.

The Reds value Sterling at around £50m and will not accept anything less for their star-asset.

Sterling informed the club he wanted out at the end of last season, and has told them he won’t be signing a new deal, with his current one expiring in two years time.

Officials at Anfield now face the decision of when to cash in, but according to Brendan Rodgers, they won’t be selling him this Summer, meaning his value will start to decrease as his contract nears it’s end.

City Need English Players

City are desperate to sign the Liverpool winger as they need to sign Englishman in order to meet Premier League regulations.

Manuel Pellegrini‘s men lost Micah Richards, Richard Wright, James Milner and Frank Lampard as English players, leaving just Joe Hart.

City’s second bid is likely to be rejected.
