West Bromwich Albion have rejected an improved offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Saido Berahino

The second offer from Spurs is believed to be in the region of £22million, according to the Daily Mirror.

Spurs tabled an offer last week thought to around £15million, according to the Guardian and subsequently Berahino handed in a transfer request, which Albion rejected.

The England Under-21 forward, who scored 20 goals in all competitions last season, was left out of the squad during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis later explained he was not in the right frame of mind to feature and admitted the forward could well leave before the transfer window closes.

Berahino has made 83 appearances, scoring 29 goals in the process and spent time on loan at Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough, following his progression through the youth ranks.

Harry Kane outlines plans

The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but has recently insists he wants to stay at Tottenham and become a club legend.

“I’m happy at Tottenham which is a great club heading in the right direction, I want to become a club legend.”

“I’m excited and the season has started now, which is great, so I just want to get the games going, get into that rhythm and start scoring goals” said Kane.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is reported to be an admirer of the 22-year-old and could be planning to offer up to £45million to land the Spurs striker.
