Mario Balotelli, Jose Enrique and Fabio Borini have all been excluded from the squad

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been ruthless in his pre-season training set-up as he has forced Mario Balotelli, Jose Enrique and Fabio Borini to train away from the squad.

The trio are all on the transfer list and expected to leave the club this summer, but Rodgers has pushed that one step further by excluding them from the rest of the squad.

Balotelli and Borini are strongly linked with a move back to Italy, with several clubs linked with signing them, but as for Enrique, no clubs as of yet have expressed an interest in his services.

Trio Expected to Leave

Rodgers has already brought in three new strikers, with Christian Benteke and Danny Ings arriving, as well as Divock Origi returning from a season-long loan.

This means there is no room in the squad for Borini or Balotelli, who are set to head back to their home country of Italy.

Rickie Lambert is also on his way out after undergoing a medical at West Bromwich Albion earlier today.

For Enrique, it looks like he may be forced to stay at Anfield with no clubs interested in signing him, but with Alberto Moreno as the only recognised left-back, that may not be so bad for Rodgers.
