Crystal Palace accept £6million bid for Dwight Gayle

Newly promoted Bristol City have agreed a deal to sign Dwight Gayle from the south London club after they accepted a £6m bid.

Gayle has attracted a lot of interest from both Premier League and Championship clubs this transfer window, with Bournemouth, Wolves and Norwich making their intentions public.

Palace had valued the forward closer to the £10m mark but it appears Steve Cotterill has managed to negotiate a slightly cheaper price.

Gayle on the way?

The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself in Alan Pardew‘s starting lineup and has seen first-team opportunities harder to come by with the additions of strikers Patrick Bamford and Connor Wickham.

A deal is yet to be finalised because Gayle has not agreed personal terms with City but both clubs are hoping a deal can be completed soon.

Gayle scored 18 goals in 24 starts for the Eagles after joining from Peterborough United for £4.5m in 2013.
