Forward rejects huge contract with Hammers

AC Milan forward Carlos Bacca has rejected the chance to play for West Ham next season.

It was a big offer that Bacca turned down, with it being thought he said no to earning a net amount of €4million a season.

Bacca’s mind is made up. He’s waiting to get the call from Diego Simeone to join Atletico Madrid for the 2016/17 season. The Colombian striker has rejected an offer from West Ham of over 27 million euro, an offer that came with a salary of almost 4 million euro a season.

After days of negotiations between the London club and AC Milan, it seemed a deal was in the offing, but Bacca has pulled out, sending what appears to be a clear message to Madrid’s rojiblancos. Bacca wants to join the ranks of Simeone and play with last season’s Champions League finalists.

However, it’s now thought Arsenal are also interested in him, and are looking to hijack the deal. He’s believed to be valued at around ÂŁ26million, and that is a sum that Arsenal are prepared to pay.

Arsenal have also shown interest in Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette this summer, and they could outdo Atleti with the offer of Champions League football at Emirates Stadium next season, according to reports.
