Arsenal midfielder doesn’t think Arsene Wenger will sign another striker
Arsenal star Santi Cazorla isn’t expecting to see Karim Benzema join him in North London after admitting he doesn’t expect Arsene Wenger to sign a new striker.
The Gunners only have three recognised forwards at the club, with Chuba Akpom confirming his loan move to Hull City earlier this afternoon.
Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott are the only realistic options for Arsene Wenger ahead of the new season, but Cazorla doesn’t expect to see a new striker arrive at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have been linked with Benzema all summer, with some reports claiming they have set aside £46million to sign the Frenchman, but according to Cazorla, those reports are incorrect.
Cazorla Rules out Benzema
“Benzema fits into any team. The good players fit well in every side. He has quality and would adapt great.”
Wenger has been a huge admirer of Benzema since his Lyon days and has always wanted to sign the Frenchman, but with Real Madrid not prepared to sell, it looks like he will once again miss out.
