Cesc Fabregas has showed his support for Arsene Wenger by backing him to keep Arsenal at the top of English football.

The Arsenal boss has come under a lot of judgement and pressure after selling his star-man for a second year in a row. This time, Robin Van Persie, left Arsenal for fierce rivals, MAnchester United, and the summer also saw Alex Song join Cesc Fabregas at Barcelona.

However, the ex-Arsenal captain is confident that even without Van Persie, Arsene Wenger, can keep Arsenal at the top of the English game.

“Arsene Wenger is amazing and I’m sure he will prove it again this season.

“He always finds the best young talent in Europe and has the courage to bring them in and give them their chance.

“That is his special talent, the way he works with a player to build their confidence and encourage them to play, to perform at their best.

“That’s why I’m confident that Arsenal will again be up there challenging.

Fabregas, who left Arsenal to join boyhood club Barcelona, also admitted that he still loves the London club and still watches their games and always looks out for their results.

I watch them every weekend because Arsenal still mean so much to me.

“It was a privilege for me to spend eight years at such a magnificent club.

There has recently been a lot of speculation about the Spaniards future at Barcelona because of the lack of first team action, but the young midfielder insists that he is happy at the Nou Camp and is happy to be fighting for his place.

“I knew I was coming to compete for a place against the best players in the world. But I like big challenges.

“If I didn’t I would have stayed at Arsenal where I was the captain, where I played every game and where I was treated so well.

“I have a big heart, a strong character and I have the courage to carry on competing for my place.”

There was rumours that Cesc was looking for a possible loan move in January back to Arsenal, but he has dismissed those rumours by saying he wants to end his career at Barcelona.
