Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has suggested that Arsene Wenger should sign Raphael Varane and Morgan Schneiderlin.
Nicholas believes that signing two quality players, such as the Real Madrid defender (Varane) and Southampton holding midfielder (Schneiderlin), could push Arsenal that little bit further.
The Gunners are currently second in the Premier League and are into the semi-finals of the FA Cup as they look to defend the trophy.
When speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I still think they’re two players away from being the real deal.”
He also added: “It’s the defence and the protection of the defence that need attention, he (Wenger) recognises that now.”
Like many, Nicholas believes Arsenal should be winning the Premier League but are a couple of quality players short of being genuine contenders.
