Tonights game saw a very nervous start for Chelsea, who needed to bounce back after their weekend defeat to Newcastle.
This game needed Samuel Eto’o to step up, and he did just that, by scoring two goals just like Torres did in Chelsea’s last game against Schalke.
Eto’o’s first goal came from intercepting Schalke keeper Timo Hildebrand’s pass. Which calmed the game down for Chelsea, and let them take the game into their control.
Todays game also saw, a great performance by Chelsea midfielder Willian who really came alive in the second half for Chelsea, and set up Samuel Eto’o’s second goal of the game. 95 seconds after Julian Draxler nearly equalised for Schalke.
Chelsea’s 3rd goal came from Demba Ba, scoring his first ever Champions League goal. With a nice volley, from Frank Lampard’s lofted pass.
With this overall convincing performance from Chelsea, the players and manager can now get last weekends Premier League defeat out of their minds, and concentrate on their upcoming matches.
