Chelsea appoint temporary replacement for Michael Emenalo

According to reports, Chelsea have replaced former technical director Michael Emenalo with head scout Scott McLachlan.

The Times report that Chelsea have found a short-term successor, with McLachlan – who is the club’s head of international scouting – now having a greater say in the recruitment process.

Chelsea have been reviewing their management structure and will look to fill a permanent replacement for Emenalo – which is said to be McLachlan.

McLachlan is working closely with director Marina Granovskaia who’s been taking on Emenalo’s duties on her own.

Scott is apparently already drawing up transfer plans for the January window, with the Blues heavily linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey.

However, Chelsea are not expected to make an announcement on a new technical director until after this season so these reports seem a little premature.
