Chelsea chasing Brazilian sensation
Chelsea have shown an interest in Gremio playmaker Arthur Melo, according to reports in the Daily Mirror today.
Antonio Conte is looking for more creativity in his midfield, and the upcoming Brazilian sensation could fit the bill.
Known as Arthur, the youngster’s form this season has attracted plenty of interest from top European clubs and he has already been called up by Brazil. However, he is yet to debut for La Selecao.
Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the midfielder who has been likened to Andres Iniesta in his style of play.
According to the Mirror, it’s United who feel they have the edge in the pursuit for Athur, but Chelsea will be hoping that they can lure him to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have a strong Brazilian connection, with the likes of Willian, David Luiz, Kenedy and Wallace all currently plying their trade in West London.
