The Blues look set to sign the Brazilian for upwards of ÂŁ5 million

Chelsea are reportedly close to signing young prodigy striker Kenedy from Brazil outfit Fluminense.

The 19 year old is set to become the second Brazilian in a week to sign for the Blues, with Atletico Paranense midfielder Nathan penning a deal on Tuesday.

Kenedy has previously been on the radar of Manchester United, after breaking into the Fluminense first team this season.

He has represented Brazil’s under 20 side seven times, scoring once, and starred in the 2013 South America Championships.

Sky Sports report that a deal is close to being agreed, and Fluminense are said to want at least ÂŁ5 million for him.

The player certainly hasn’t hidden his desire to play in Europe.

England Dream

“Of course, I am happy to play for Fluminense but it is my ambition to one day play in Europe”, he said.

“I like Chelsea because of players like Oscar and Ramires.”

Kenedy will be loaned straight out due to current work permit rules preventing overseas 19 year olds from playing in the Premier League.

His destination is likely to be Chelsea’s partner club in the Netherlands, Vitesse Arnhem.
