Blues having injury crisis at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are once again considering a bid for Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes after Jose Mourinho expressed fears about lack of depth in between the sticks.

The Blues have already lost Thibaut Courtois, who underwent knee surgery earlier in the season, and Mourinho is worried that a ban or injury to second-string ‘keeper Asmir Begovic could derail their season.

Jamal Blackman is Chelsea‘s third-choice goalkeeper after being promoted to the first-team, but Mourinho wants Chelsea to make moves in the loan department as an emergency transfer.

Valdes a Target

A realistic target is Valdes, who is being left out by Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford after the Spaniard snubbed the chance to play for the U-21s.

Van Gaal and Valdes fell out over the summer and because of that, the veteran shot-stopper hasn’t received a squad number or a club suit.

According to reports, Valdes is one of four possible options, with the other three being: Inter Milan’s Juan Pablo Carrizo, Atletico Madrid’s Miguel Angel Moya and Helton of Porto.
