Mourinho labels him as the best young defender
It has been reported that Raphael Varane may be on his way to Stamford Bridge after it was revealed that he believes his chances at the Bernabeu will be few and far between after Pepe agreed to sign a new contract with Los Blanco’s.
Mourinho was the man that brought Varane to Real Madrid after calling him one of the best young defenders in Europe, so it now only seems logically that the Frenchman would be reunited with him at Stamford Bridge.
John Terry has now signed for another year controlling the back line for The Blues which can only be welcomed news for the Chelsea fans. Terry brings amazing defensive qualities to the team and he is able to pass on his experience to the younger players like Kurt Zouma.
With Kurt Zouma and Raphael Varane at the back it would certainly seem to put Chelsea in a good position for the future defensively.
Varane would likely cost Chelsea £22 million pound which is a figure that will only increase over time but would be a solid investment for Chelsea’s future and dream of winning the Champions League.
