According to Portuguese daily Record, Chelsea Football Club are prepared to pay the £25m fee to free Victor Lindelöf from his contract.
Antonio Conte is on the look out for a new strong defender and has been looking at Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and also Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci.
Now the Blues boss is keen on Sweden international Lindelof who broke into Benfica’s first team and had 26 appearances in all competitions last season.
Swedish newspaper Afton Bladet claimed back in May that the Red Devils also launched a £20m bid for the 21-year-old, but not much has come of that.
