Blues add Arsenal name to list of potential Eden Hazard replacements
Chelsea could be prepared to make a stunning move for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should Eden Hazard leave the club in the summer.
The Blues midfielder is strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, and with him reportedly telling close friends he’s leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, it looks like a deal could be on the cards with the La Liga giants.
Should Chelsea lose Hazard, they will then be in the transfer market to sign a replacement, and a surprise name being mentioned this morning is Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Out of Favour at Arsenal
The Arsenal winger is on the fringes of the first-team due to competition for places and also due to several injuries that have halted his progression in the past.
Chamberlain is behind the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and even Joel Campbell now it seems, and that could persuade him to leave the club in order to play regular first-team football.
The 22-year-old is contracted at Arsenal until 2018, but with first-team football not guaranteed at the Emirates Stadium, he may seek to move away sooner in order to develop his career.
