The Blues are keen to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong who has been labeled as some as an assist King.
According to Voetbal International, Chelsea are among five teams monitoring Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong’s situation at the Eredivisie club
The 20 year old has been linked with Chelsea earlier this month, however, de Jong has now sent the rumour mill into overdrive following comments he made after the 5-1 win against Roda JC on Sunday. The Dutchman was adamant he deserves more starting opportunities following recent displays:
“I have to play now. That is my feeling and that is no mystery. It’s up to the coach, but I do not know what I can do more than this.”
de Jong has started just four league matches under manager Marcel Keizer, with his last start coming in the 2-1 defeat to Vitesse Arnhem back in September. When he did start in the Dutch Cup against De Dijk last month, he scored and provided an assist in a 4-1 win.
