According to reports today, Manchester United are set to face some heavy competition from Chelsea for the signing of Alvaro Morata.

The Real Madrid attacker has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks with some saying the deal is all but done.

Jose Mourinho chose not to renew Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract, so the chase for Morata has been a battle for both Chelsea and United

However, Morata has now emerged as a key target for Chelsea, to replace outgoing Diego Costa.

According to the Sunday Mirror, a £70m bid has been green lit by owner Roman Abramovich.

The report says that Manchester United have already agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old, however, Chelsea are hoping to get ahead of the race for his signature with a huge £70m bid.
