Antonio Conte wants a reunion with the midfielder at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are reportedly planning a bid for Arturo Vidal in summer.

The Bayern Munich man has been linked with a move to Chelsea over the past few weeks and with the confirmation that Antonio Conte will indeed become manager of the Blues in summer, it’s only added fuel to the fire.

The midfielder has previously claimed that he loves working under the current Italy boss and the manager has echoed those same thoughts back about Vidal.

Conte wants to strengthen the midfield

Now, reports are suggesting that Antonio Conte has told Roman Abramovich that midfield is the main position that he wants to strengthen and that he wants the money to bring in the Chile international.

Bayern though will be extremely unwilling to let him go – the 28-year old has become one of the Bundesliga side’s main players and he only joined them last summer, with the midfielder still having three-years left on his current deal.

It means that Chelsea are expected to have to bid at least ÂŁ30m for Bayern to even consider selling Vidal.

However, with Abramovich not short on cash and with the incoming Blues boss desperate for a reunion with the Chilean, they could be more than willing to spend that amount to try and bring him to England.
